Yours are centered under the vehicle right?

If you have a pre-97 those might work, but the kit for the 97+ is NOT the right length, Google the part numbers, there are numerous threads on the issue

EastCoastGearSupply has the highest quality cables but they are expensive.

You can use the factory cables if you cut the spring, and use a cable clamp to secure the cable to the E-brake lever

The ones I posted were a direct fit on my '96.

I've been out of town & missed this thread but let me try to answer a few questions.

The Crown Vic calipers are on the left side when you are facing the wheel. Or is it the right......?
Anywho, one is fore & one is aft the axle.
The Explorer positions the calipers to the rear of the axle.
The ZJ & Liberty both position the calipers behind the axle.
I have never sold or installed the Ford parts but I can tell you that they do NOT just bolt onto any Dana 44. You have to modify the backing plate mounting holes so they match the holes in the bearing retainer plate & the axle itself.
The ZJ parts are a direct bolt on to the C clip Dana 35 (TJ, XJ & ZJ) & C clip Dana 44a (ZJ only). But the center hole needs to opened up slightly to fit over the 3 inch tube of the 8.25.
The Liberty parts will bolt onto the the Dana 35 or 8.25 without modification.

Let me also state that drum breaks are more effective than disc brakes when PROPERLY installed & adjusted. Big emphasis on properly. For a street Jeep I'd stick with drums. But if you plan to do any off-road driving I'd swap to discs. Reason being is drums get caked with mud & water where the discs are self cleaning.
And the best part about discs is the ease of installing the pads as opposed to shoes.

I believe the best price that I found the '96 down e brake cables for were $25 each. Or you can modify the ends to work on the arm. The ZJ driver's & passenger's side cables are both the same length. They can only be used on the drivers side of a '97 & up XJ or if you are converting a '93 ZJ over to discs.

The proportion valve is vehicle or person specif. Meaning, my XJ didn't need it or I felt like it it didn't need it because I noticed a difference in the braking with rear discs. Others swear that their Jeeps brakes were terrible until they installed the valve.

I'll add two things. Calipers last a lot longer than parts of drum brakes. And as for the PV, the stock ZJ conversion kit works great but ill admit, changing the PV does make some difference under hard braking.
