Alright guys, let's get back on track though. We really did deviate from the original topic.
Don't want the mods to come in and start cleaning house do we?

The stock course is about 3 miles long and requires 4wd, front and rear recovery points, and seatbelts for all passengers. Has some off-camber and cross-camber obstacles, a couple climbs, some mud, simulated water crossings (I say simulated because they're hard-pack on the bottom), and lots of concrete obstacles.
Modified course is about the same length, maybe a little less. Requires at least 33" tires, at least 1 locker, seatbelts for all passengers, and no riders under the age of 12. Lots of rock obstacles, cross-camber, rock garden, concrete culverts, climbs, and a mud pit.
Extreme course is just brutal lol... no other way to describe it. Pretty much think of the worst obstacles on the Rubicon trail... that's what they modeled the extreme course after. Large boulder rock gardens, concrete barricade obstacle sections.... hell lookup "Jeeptoberfest Extreme course" on YouTube and you'll have a many minutes of entertainment.
Actually... I thought about that after the fact, "Well here we go again... lol". So what you are saying is that I should have just blown him off by completely ignoring his reply? That would be disrespectful and rude wouldn't it?
See... now we were probably done... Until you decided to get involved and your two cents to reignite the fire, so now at this point you have rekindled an off topic discussion here with your own actions.
And it would have been rude for me not to acknowledge your opinion and efforts to make this statement. Which is also in it's self off topic by the way.

Double edge sword?

Yes this thread was doomed from the beginning. Only so much to say about headliners....
And leaving with an on topic post (and a picture).... when I do my headliner, I am doing it with the carbon fiber looking vinyl. Cant say I have seen anyone do that yet.
When intelligent human beings have a conversation it by "nature" sometimes leads to other topics. I would hate to think we are all just ignorant folders in a file cabinet because we are not... Intelligent thought leads to other intelligent thoughts. Unless you are happy to be just a file folder, filed in the proper drawer, in the proper cabinet.

It was pretty much dead and nothing was going on with it at all. It was going to slide off and disappear, our off topic discussion has kept it alive for more input and ideas like yours here. If it had been a build thread or something along the lines of "What are you listening too now" We most likely would have not gone off topic. I have already apologized for this in the past and have refrained from doing it where it is important not too.

Now getting back on topic... I think that look is great man. Would that be termed as a herringbone weave? I like it...

Bugout - No worries. I have derailed many threads before. We all do it. Like you said, its human nature. Just had to give you and the fish licker a hard time since it wasnt me for once! (might be my turn now though)
Not sure what the actual term for the weave is. I just call it carbon fiber since it resembles it. The thing I dont like about it is that dirt tends to stick in the crevasses and its hard to clean. Due to that, I would most likely do the silver stuff to help hide the dust. My headliner is grey right now anyways so it wouldnt be much of a change.

No Wristwrencher took the prize so far... lol
Figure 4 in this shows what a Herringbone design looks like. It is used in laying bricks, paving tiles, fabric, wood wall decorations, etc.

It doesn't have a clearcoat over it?
Carbon fiber and faux carbon are a big thing in the aftermarket parts for my Subaru, and in fact I can't seem to find the steering wheel I want without carbon accents. But all of it is either just a decal with the pattern in it or comes with a clearcoat over it that leaves a smooth surface you can wipe down.
Personally I hate the stuff, but that's because it's been WAY over done by the ricers. The other day I walked past a ****box Honda in a parking lot that was lowered with a buzzy coffee can, had a different colored front bumper that was coming loose on one side and tint that was bubbled so bad I doubt he could see anything behind him, but he had done his entire dash in "carbon fiber." Then he cranked up his stereo, and the wing on his trunk rattled.

Hey, got to set priorities here. Did it also have 20" wheels tucked under it? lol

Nope, no clear coat. Its textured. And yes the ricers have ruined it for the rest of us.
Note sure if you can see the texture on this seat or not.
