My oil pressure is suffering so the thought has crossed my mind to either rebuild my motor stroked or replace it with a stroker from a company like Golen or Jasper. Can anyone else recommend a good company for a crate stoker? I could rebuild the motor I have but I'd like the warranty and I don't know whether this one has any damage yet from the dwindling oil pressure.

If you are considering rebuilding your 4.0, no reason not to build your own stroker. I did mine not too long ago, it was pretty easy. no real difference than building a regular 4.0 just different parts. The warranty would be nice, but if you take your time and do it right, you won't have a problem. You would save considerable money building it yourself too.

Not sure if he's decided to keep it or not but a friend of mine is selling a 4.7 stroker with around 10k miles on it. He's got over $5k into it. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f72/4-7-stroker-147826/

I know the guys from Golen. A friend had a few engines built by them (drag engines) and they are strong and take a beating. they say their strokers are built to be every bit as reliable as stock. They are right near me, so that seals the deal for me

Yeah, I'm leaning towards Golen if I can come up with the coin. They sure have the reputation in the industry, I just wanted to know if there were other companies out there I hadn't heard about. I appreciate you backing them up.

Stay as far away from Jasper as you can. Ive had 2 of there motors. 1 - 4.0 and the other a 2.5 gm. Both burned only after 5000 miles and were guttless..

Have you considered changing the oil pump? Would be cheaper than a stroker...
