The auto shut down relay system will kill the fuel pump and ignition. I just had the same problem and it was my pcm (computer). Check the main fuse box under the hood for bad wiring and the asd relay if they are good then it may be the computer.
If it is the ASD relay would the engine still turn over?
It seems that when the jeep is sitting for a long period of time it'll start right up without sputtering, running rough or stalling but after I turn the car off if I don't start it right back up ill have to let it sit for a long time.....I'm stuck on what it is. Ill be changin the cps and fuel filter tomorrow morning for sure

yes if the asd relay is bad it will still crank over but just wont start you wont have fuel or spark if that is going bad the AC relay should be the same so just swap the 2 around and see what happens I wouldnt go throwing parts at it just yet

Renix CPS Testing and Adjusting
Renix CPSs have to put out a strong enough signal to the ECU so that it will provide spark.
Most tests for the CPS suggest checking it for an ohms value. This is unreliable and can cause some wasted time and aggravation in your diagnosis of a no-start issue as the CPS will test good when in fact it is bad.
The problem with the ohms test is you can have the correct amount of resistance through the CPS but it isn’t generating enough voltage to trigger the ECU to provide spark.
Unplug the harness connector from the CPS. Using your voltmeter set on AC volts and probing both wires in the connector going to the CPS, crank the engine over. It won’t start with the CPS disconnected.
You should get a reading of .5 AC volts.
If you are down in the 3.5 AC volts range or lower on your meter reading, you can have intermittent crank/no-start conditions from your Renix Jeep. Some NEW CPSs (from the big box parts stores) have registered only .2 AC volts while reading the proper resistance!! That’s a definite no-start condition. Best to buy your CPS from Napa or the dealer.
Sometimes on a manual transmission equipped Renix Jeep there is an accumulation of debris on the tip of the CPS. It’s worn off clutch material and since the CPS is a magnet, the metal sticks to the tip of the CPS causing a reduced voltage signal. You MAY get by with cleaning the tip of the CPS off.
A little trick for increasing the output of your CPS is to drill out it’s mounting holes with the first drill bit that just won’t fit through the original holes. Then, when mounting it, hold the CPS down as close to the flywheel as you can while tightening the bolts.

Hey no problem man. Trying to help is always better than being an A-hole because you know more than someone and have nothing better to do lol.
Ill search for the procedure tonight!
Ill search for the procedure tonight!
Will do buddy.
Update so far:
It will start right up after sitting for extended periods of time and will run fine...no sputtering...no jerking...perfect! But other times it will turn over but not start...I can here th fuel pump running when I turn the key
So far I've...
Changed the asd relay
Tried unplugging and plugging the cps (some people had success doing this)
Tried jumping it even though it has enough power to start
Changed the fuel pump relay
Can anyone else chime in???
I have the next three days off. If I can't fix it by then its going to the junkyard...

If you can hear the fuel pump its not the asd system as that will kill power to the pump. You can have fuel pressure but still not have the injectors pulse to give the motor gas. Have you gone back to basics and checked for spark at the plugs when it won't start? Also get some carb cleaner or starting fluid and when you have the problem spray some down the throttle body and see odor fires up for a second. If it does not start with the carb cleaner then its ignition related. You need to narrow down the possiblities.

The cables will get hot if you crank on it for a while, that is normal. If it only does it hot it usually is an electrical issue. The components will heat up and not make contact some times. I just went through the same thing and chased it for a few weeks. I could drive like normal and out of no were it would not start. Mine turned out to be the computer, hope yours isn't that. It was expensive to replace.
