Here's mine and it works great and you only hear it when your at W.O.T.
You will notice less air comming out your HVAC though.

Opened the air box when I got home and it was bone dry. Not to mention it only cost $20. Just seal up the stock opening real well.

But the short version:
1. Cut a 3" hole in the driver's side cowl low enough to clear the hood when closed but high enough to miss the brake assy (I used a dremel for this).
2. Remove the air box and cut a hole (dremel as well) below the filter line on the rear of the box. This ended up being less than perfectly round due to the limited surface area.
3. Seal the OEM opening on the front of the air box. (I used a flat piece of plastic attached with self-tapping screws and a s$&@ load of silicone RTV.
4. This should actually be first: buy a flexible intake hose 3" from, AutoZone, O'Reiley, your choice. Also pick up some large hose clamps.
5. Insert one of the rubber adapters included with the tube/hose in the hole in the cowl and one in the air box.
6. Replace air box and secure with original hardware.
7. Insert hose in each adapter and secure with hose clamp.
8. Replace filter, top, and all parts removed from box.
9. Enjoy
Ok, this wasn't a real short version but I hope it helps. If I forgot anything, someone please call me out. I don't want to give you any misinformation.
