the passenger side of the cowl is a solid piece only the driver side is open, unless your drains are clogged i dont see water being too much of an issue. Noise wise i cant help ya as far as first hand experience goes, but from what ive read its mildly noticeable at first but ya get use to it.

It's not loud at all. You can hear it but you'll like it. To give you an idea, you can hear it when it's cold or when you accellerate real hard but not any other time. I've never had a problem with water getting in. It drains out before it can get in the intake pipe.

I did the home made version into the ds cowl. Only hear it on startup and it's not very loud at all. As for water, I have driven home in a few downpours right after I did it. Opened the air box when I got home and it was bone dry. Not to mention it only cost $20. Just seal up the stock opening real well.

I have been wanting to do the hummer style snorkel.

1st i was going to use this http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...13285155977562 because it elimitates the factory air box.

here is a write up.

I've been waiting to hear some reviews on this, I'd rather go this route then do the homemade one out of the stock box since I plan on installing a 2nd battery and this would free up all the room I need!
