I searched and looked through like 50 threads on 5 different forums. Where can I get a cone filter that I can attach to 3" tubing for a cowl snorkel, but is small enough to fit in that tiny 5x6" space in the cowl? I found 2 that will fit but there is no way I am spending $50-60 on a filter unless it cleans itself and has cleanroom grade filtration
Any OE style cone filters that will fit?

do what dukie564 and i did: seal up the stock air box and put 3" PVC through the bottom of the box and out the cowl. the air will filter through the stock filter. this way is basically $20 for PVC and RTV for sealant.

yea i wouldn't put the filter in the cowl. Too open to water/dirt/mud that can clog the filter, plus it'll be a pain in the dick to clean.
Here's what I did, but i've seen people put a filter in-line between the cowl and the TB also

I was originally going to but the ABS module makes that impossible. Largest tubing I could get out the back of the airbox would be 1-3/4" or maybe squeeze 2", but either way it would be a huge bottleneck. I also tried to relocate the airbox onto the passenger side, but the crap for my OBA is in the way.
Plus it rained hard last night and it stayed dry in the passenger side of the cowl

I used 3" exhaust pipe rather than PVC. Found a filter that fits and its a $12 OEM style for something. So the cowl snorkel works awesome so far and sounds badass at WOT.

Filter is a Fram CA9053 (shut up I know they suck, no pun intended)
Tomorrow i will paint the tubing and route the crankcase breather into it. And we got some extremely heavy rain today that caused flash flooding, I put a wave of water over my hood, then pulled into a parking lot and the inside of the cowl where the filter sits was dry.

any one test running constant water over their cowl with a hose? and the passenger side is sealed wouldnt that actually be better then even riskign the slight chance of putting it on the drivers side? also anybody with a cowl intake mounted on the passanger side is it louder then a reg cai or about the same?

there is a drain on both sides, not just the drivers side. You may have a clog
MAKE SURE YOUR DRAINS ARE CLEAR WITH THIS MOD
