Default Console Swap Question

I've got a 94 5psd XJ, and am looking at buying a 98 console to have cupholders. The one I'm looking at buying is from an Auto though, so can I just swap the bezel from the 94 over to the console or get a bezel from a 97+? Or will the auto console not work with a 5spd?

It will work but you'll have to find a 97+ manual transmission bezel.

The 94 Bezel won't work.

I see the boot on ebay but I don't see an XJ specific bezel. Seems like I saw one or two that said XJ/TJ. Maybe they use the same bezel.

Yeah I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Anyone know where to get one or have one laying around?

Bump, new question.

Anyone have any good suggestions on how to attach the ebrake cable to the 98+ handle?

You have to bend the e brake towards the driver seat then back straight to make that work. Or cut and weld. I toke a pre 97 console from an auto and boot it in my 5 speed and it fit fine, I had the boot from before and it swapped right on. Not sure about a 97+ tho.

I know how to make it fit, but not how to make it work. The 94 cable will not attach properly to the 98+ ebrake handle
