combining aftermarket lifted leafs?
my friends grandpa has an old XJ in his junk yard with what looks to have 6" coils measured 17" with the jeep sitting on them and 3 " leafs measured 12" (from top of leaf in the center to the bottom of the unibody) with the jeep sitting on them. basically what i want to know is can I combine the 2 leafs (mine (3" RC) and the junkyard jeep (unknown) to make it close to what a 6" lift would be? but the weird thing is the jeep looks fairly level.
If any one is questioning how I figured those measurements I went off what mine is measured.

combining the leaf packs would gain you the height due to the thickness of the leafs themselves. but not knowing waht for sure is under there who knows. You may need to play with the leafs and see what you end up with. depends on what the price and if you have the time to mess with it. Keep in mind with a thicker pack your u-bolts may not fit so longer ones are in order along with new center pin.

well I figured out the deal with the measurements. I forgot I had a lifted shackle in the back which made it even with the JY jeep. but yea anyway in order to combine the leafs (bastard pack) what do I need to combine the two?

all thats really needed to combine them is new center pin bolts and u-bolts. You probably dont want to add all of them. Hence the time and work to change the leafs around to get what you want in height and or ride. Depending on the shocks you have now they may not be long enough to match up with thwe lift you may achive.
