So I got my ax15 in my 87 Cherokee chief and rid myself of the ba10, its truly amazing! The ax15 was from a 98 so had to buy a prebled slave/master well that was a pain in itself to modify in correctly but still have one issue the pedal height with the new rod on the master is about 2 inches to high. Compared to the brake pedal and the clutch pedal does not reach the floor so I am concerned that I may break the master.

As far as I can see there is only two options, modify the rod, if I can even get it out again without breaking the master and even then since it has so much plastic on it that would be a pain or modify the clutch pedal assembly to achieve the proper height.

Anyone had any experience with this? Any other options?

For future reference and your doing a swap from a ba10 to ax15 with an external slave cylinder... Buy the hose adapters from advanced adapters.. I regret not buying them haha.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? I'm pretty sure the rod does not come out of the master once its inserted... Looks like some kind of lock ring... Most likely will never fit correctly again of removed.

It's not the wrong master.. Can't be I ordered it for the 1998 though and put it in an 87.. The pedal assembly on the 98 must be different or the firewall is a bit different. Works great besides being too high.

You compared to old one correct. I used 94 to 96 first year of external set up.

Yeah my 87 pugeot was shorter. The 98 is definitely longer, I suppose if I would have known before I would have used the 94-96 heh. It's one of those single piece units prebled. To late now I guess. I think I am just going to cut the pedal assembly.

Ah I could not find an aluminum master, found a slave but had to end up going to the prebled unit which I hate. Oh well. It sort of looks like I can take the rod out then shorten it but being that the unit is all plastic my luck I'll bend the clips or break something and it will never fit again haha
