Default Clayton 3 link questions

Anyone run this kit?

http://claytonoffroad.com/product_in...cd24abe88cec73

In fine print. It says it will fit 6.5 lifts to clear floors

I'm wondering if anyone out there had successfully used this kit on 4.5 inch lift? With any modifications to make it fit?

I don't have personal experience with this particular one but I feel like it wouldn't be an issue at 4.5 inches of lift.

Worst case scenario you'd have to massage the floor in a spot or two but I doubt it. The LCA's would be fine.

That was what I'm thinking... I might give them a call and see how they stand on this.

My buddy has that on a 4.5 and it works. It looks close though.

I designed my 3 link off of thirds except mine is passenger upper link. Bump stop to prevent from hitting the floor or just let it shape itself. I just cycled my suspension and let the upper link "reposition" the floor boards. They were pretty rusted out so it wasn't that difficult

What's the difference between drivers side and passenger side. Any benefits of doing uppers on passenger over driver?

Go ask Matt Phillips, whatever his name is on here. Drivers side is cast in the housing and not the weak tiny passenger bracket.

So u are saying the only reason people prefer drvers side is because of the upper bracket?

Yea I noticed.

I would want to get the FST 3 link but the horror stories scares me, and the Clayton 3 link is only one I can find, but the disclaimer about 6.5 inch height kept me at bay...

Next choice I see is ruffstuff's DIY. 3 link kit. What do anybody think of that kit?

The way I see it, I would need to get a three piece crossmember and make my own arms with that kit.

I went through ballistic fab to make mine. Made a 3 piece crossmember from scratch. Probably $600 in parts and materials

If I had my choice. I would make everything from scratch, unfortunately I don't have time. I work 12 hrs 5 days and my weekends are tight. So I gotta buy a cross member

I hear ya. Took me all winter to make mine. The crossmember was the easiest though. 2"X6" 1/4" thick steel stock. Cut into 3 sections w/ 1/4" gussets and that's pretty much it. Maybe $30 in materials
