Chrysler 8.25 open carrier
I have a 95 xj so i am pretty sure the axles are 27 spline. I wanna upgrade to 29 spline so that means id have to change the carrier. I have been searching for months in jy where I live and it havent had any luck. I do not want to spend $400+ for a new carrier so I was wondering if anyone would have a 29 spline open carrier lying around that I can buy for cheap.

Found this used one on eBay for under $100. I'm doing the same with my 8.25, except I'm putting a TrueTrac in with 4.56 gears.

in an 8.25 rear.
Are you doing the the TrueTrac install yourself? Hoping if so you will post pictures and whatnot. I have been toying with the idea of this for my '00 XJ. Thinking it would be better
for in the snow seeing how she is just a DD.
Guessing this is the one:

I know that everybody says that this is better then going with a TracLok but in an effort to keep my Jeep Jeep I might go with this:

Clutch packs are the supposed weak point with this idea though.

Go on Craigslist or the junk yard & get a entire axle assembly for around $200, give or take. This is a much easier option & you can do it in the driveway in a few hours with minimal tools.
