Hey everyone!
I need some help getting the spring clamps off my s10 leafs for my bastard pack. I thought it would be pretty easy (take a bfh and pound on the thing!) It seems as if they are somehow bolted onto the third leaf and I can't get the thing off for the life of me.
Are there any tips and tricks to getting them off!?
Looks just like the one below
Thanks for any help!!!

use a pry bar to bend them apart and then bend them straight up. drill a hole near the top of both ends and put a bolt through, and you have a leaf spring clamp. why do you want them off?
"I was able to reuse the spring clamps that were on the donor pack. I just bent them straight up and drilled them out and put a bolt going through the top (not pictured) so that if the leafs need to move a little up or down they are not restricted. After trimming the center pin, reverse the whole prodedure and put the Jeep back together." read this halfway down the page of the link

if you look at the leaf packs you can see how he did it

Just bend them off with the biggest pry bar you can get in. That's what I did. It doesn't hurt to have a buddy stand on them while you do it, although you can do it alone. Having the centering pin in helps too. I reused mine, but it was a ***** and a half bending them back into shape.

I do want to keep them because I was thinking I could reuse them on my xj pack. (It is bolted to the third leaf on the s10 pack and I am not planning on using that leaf in particular for my pack so I wanted to cleanly get them off.)
That is what I was planning on doing but they are attached to the 3rd s10 leaf that I do not plan on using.
There wasn't a bolt holding the clamp onto the s10 leaf? That's my problem.

Here's another pic that shows the bolts holding the clamp on the s10 spring.
This is what I can't get off! Could I just drill it out?!

If your looking to reuse it drilling it out would probably be the best option but you'd have to find a way to reattach it to the new pack. I used the one with the clamp attached to it as my bottom leaf because I didn't want to deal with it.

Alright thanks guys! I think I'll try grinding the bolt down and then drilling if I have to. Otherwise I might just incorporate that leaf with my bastard pack.
