I don't see a reason those 6.5's wouldn't fit in the same place

Possibly, if I get a chance I'll take out that panel this weekend and get some measurements. Hopefully it'll work. I read that there are a lot of wires on driver side in there

All of the wires except the speaker wires are up top. You could always use wood & build a simple enclosure that mounts to the surface of the door panel. Throw some carpet on it & done.

^ yup.

just looked at the dash and there's no way speakers will fit there... the sound bar looks the cleanest/easiest IMO. they should be everywhere in the JY

So I finally got around to taking off the kick panel. And there is this on the driver side, and it's not very moveable either
