what's up guys? I have a 96 2dr 5 speed and after I run it for a long period of time and shut it off she runs rough when I start it back up, then when I put it in gear and give it gas it bogs down until I let off then it picks back up, I just replaced the crank sensor today and it didnt do the job, any ideas on what it could be?

 

O2 sensor? I'm just pi**in into the wind, but maybe someone else will chime in here.

 

Heat soak to the TPS of IAC? Not sure. I'd have to be there and start testing things.

 

thanks guys I was just talking to one of my boys that actually heard it and witnessed it, he said it was the iac motor soo I'm gonna get one of those and put it in and hope for the best! lol

 

must be one heck of a mechanic he can hear what wrong with a iac motor ...lol...step 1 should be checking for codes has this been done ?

 

What he said. If it is running like that the Check Engine Light should be on.

 

Sounds like heat soak. Its a pretty common problem on the Cherokee. Hood vents are the easiest solution. There are several write ups on the how to. I had the same problem and solved it with homemade vents.

 

Mine does this and its throwing codes for o2 sensor stuck in lean position and i have the manifold crack :/

 

It does sound like heat soak. Mine did it badly this past summer, but there are plenty of posts out there on it if you look up cylinder 3 misfire xj and what they did to help it. I agree vents are probably the best option to keep it from running rough (misfiring) on the startup.
