Thanks to everyone who posted invaluable hints on my rear sway bar problem. I removed it, and eliminated the mess. Wife doesn't notice, and its her daily driver. Next question: I've got a check engine light reoccuring problem. Seems to happen when weather changes. Very basic engine mods- air/carb/throttle/computer tweaks. Code comes up random misfire, but all plugs are fresh. 2.5 cat-back with flowmaster. Would appreciate any help. Not a prob to me, i'd just put a piece of black tape on the dash and call it good, but the wife freaks out, and considering the 200K+ mileage, I'd like to be sure. All other diagnostics are fine. I've heard that there is a part that removes the check engine function, and have inquiries out to find it. Is that wise? I mean, c'mon, idiot lights usually mean it's too late to fix the problem! Please advise, and thank all of you again. I regret not owning a Jeep before this. I won't make the same mistake again, though I hear the new Cherokees aren't as user-friendly.

 

Random misfire codes are usually a sign of fuel starvation, check the fuel pressure.

 

Still running the stock injectors? Original coil pack?

 

Have the codes pulled first.
