Default Can you use a 99 Transmission in a 94

I have a 1994 Jeep Cherokee and I was just wondering if I would be able to use the transmission out of a 1999?

It’s having problems shifting and the pan had metal in it.

Oh man. Just scrap the whole thing and be done with it.

Seriously? It shifts weird and you saw some flakes? This is the basis of your decision?

Any codes thrown? Drain and fill? Solenoids check out? C'mon man, as Brandon says

Sorry I should’ve been more clear the entire valve body has been replaced and there’s no CEL, also the transmission pan has been drained, refilled, and filter replaced and still proceeded to have issues. Also it wasn’t like just a few flakes the entire bottom of the pan was completely coated in flakes and that was after all the maintenance done
