can i drill holes in my hitch bar?
i was thinking of doing a spare tire carrier that comes off the side of the hitch carrier kinda like Detours class 3 recovery attachment. reason bein that i still have my hitch for it's intended purpose and the tire is moved to the left of center.
the hitch says not to drill or weld on it. is that just corporate cya legal nonsense?
so is this a good idea or bad?

Surely they must have to put that on there. I wouldn't be concerned about it. Consider our towing capacity and similar designs are used on trucks with 10-15k towing capacities. You would have to remove a significant amount of material to weaken it significantly. I would just use good judgement, no "weight reduction" holes; lol.
