C8.25 Detroit Locker availability
So I ordered a C8.25 Detroit Locker in January. 4wheelparts said it was backordered, delivery expected in 4-6 weeks.
They are now estimating late April.
Has anyone bought one lately or heard what is going on with these?

summit shows out of stock
jegs shows estimated shipping (they don't have one either)
amazon currently unavailable
I'm not in a hurry but I'm wondering if I will ever get one.

Interesting.
I'm a little concerned that the photo shows a limited slip and there is this answer to a question:
"Thank you for your question. LK308229 is a Powertrax Grip Lok mechanical style locker which isn't currently available."
I can't find any reviews on Grip Lok locker for any application though.
It is important to me that it is reasonably well behaved on the street.
I have a Detroit in my 94 with an ax15 and it does pretty well. I'm pretty sure my wife would be OK with the Detroit behind an automatic.

My rear Spartan locker does great on the street. I understand wanting a full case locker for the extra strength but many people run 35 inch tires on a lunchbox locker in an 8.25 without issue.

I currently have a Lokka in there. It isn't doing well at all. On right hand turns with power applied (right hand turn onto road with traffic for example), it sometimes completely unlocks completely and relocks (with an impressive bang that seems sure to break things) a couple of times before coming up to speed.
While I am waiting for my Detroit, I will pull the Lokka and check all of the clearances again.

+1 on this. I have an 8.25 with the Powertrax and am really happy with it. Easy to install and don't notice it as much as I thought I would
