A/C Controls switch-out

A/C Controls switch-out
So the adjustment dial/switch for the A/C in my '96 Cherokee has stopped working and I'll need to replace the controls. I was wondering if it was possible to switch in any other styles of control or if it has to be the OEM style? I'm not a huge fan of the sliders, and would rather your standard *****.
