Eh I prefer trimming stock TJ flares for a cheap plastic look or buy/make some metal ones. Either will take a beating compared to BW flares.

i guess it depends on what your wheeling. i have those flares now with nitto 33s. they havent been compromised and Ive wheeled with them a lot. I bump stopped accordingly after the first shake down. i know the old BW pocket flares always rip off, but i can literally stand on these, so they arent terrible. I love the equivalent of a tube metal flare but thats big dolla.

now im wanting 35s but I dont dig the no flare walmart look lol. too pop can looking i guess. Im glad these will work with 35s and 5.5 lift as I dont care to lift it any more than that.

If I went metal they would have to be reinforced to take a beating. Thin metal flares wouldn't last as long as these thin plastic flare. I've wrapped them around a tree before with no issues, I would think thin metal would just be mangled.

Did you mount the flares in the spot that the instructions tell you to? I’m running into the problem where the genders were cut and not I purchased these flares and trying to mount them. But I don’t have the existing 2 factory holes where the factory flares went bolted to? Wonder is you just moved them up?

thank you

Coming from the excavation world i just cant buy plastic even so i alost bought bw flat flares. Ended up not doing them and formed a love hate relationship with these and my bender. Sliders tied to fenders has turned out to be one of my best mods itl bump slide and grind its way through dang ner anything with little fear of damageing body or renders Its amazing hw seemingly out of the blue she taks dips and drags a fender.

The bush wacker flat flares were what I was thinking to go with though I never did really figure out what flares gained the most tire clearance.

Hooligans has metal flares (fenders) that look like they will hold up better .

I liked BWs, sturdy for what they were. I sold them and cut more to stay low cog. I hope to fab tube fenders someday. I used a cheap bender for my UCA and it's not terrible but not smooth like a good one.
