Buying SYE help.
I got a rugged ridge SYE from serious offroad. Fast shipping and great communication. I would definitely do business with them again. Here is my issue, I went the cheap route and got a junkyard front driveshaft for the rear. I replaced all the u-joints and even the cv joint. The driveshaft is a little too long so now I will have to get it shortened and balanced. So I spent $40 for the shaft, ~$100 for the joints, and now $50-$100 to get it shortened. For that money I could've just ordered a brand new shaft and saved all the headaches.
Whats the length of the shaft you have? And whats the length you need? Im planning on buying a RR sye too. And would like to plan ahead. I know that diffrent years and models of xj have diffrent length front shafts. Also what lift height are you at? Thx
Well I was told to get a shaft from a 91-01 XJ with 4.0 and auto trans. Unfortunately at the junkyard I went to there weren't any that new so I used that chart that's floating around here and found a 94 ZJ with the 5.2 and pulled that one. According to the chart an XJ shaft with 4.0 and auto trans is 30.660". The 94 ZJ with 5.2 is 30.625 so I thought I would be ok. Guess not. Also I only have a 3" lift.
