When I lift a rig, I jack up the axle on one side until I have about 1 inch of clearance between the tire and the top of the wheel well. Then I measure the distance between the bump stop landing pad and axle that is how long of bump stop I will need. I also measure for shock length while I in there.
Just do it for all four corners, checking for any rubbing or bottoming.
