Default Bumper Weight

Hey guys I'm still relatively new to the Jeeping scene and I cant seem to find an answer anywhere. So I have a 1998 XJ and I installed a Smittybilt XRC Front Bumper, and I have a 12,000 lb Badlands winch on it, and my front end is now lower than my rear end. I will soon be adding a lift but I was wondering if I would need a bigger lift in the front because of the added weight from the winch and the bumper. I want to end up with about a 3.5 in lift all around. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'm also new to this, but I think you might be able to get by with some extra 1.5 inch coil spacers up front. And don't skip out on some good shocks!

most lift companies have an option for the heavier springs for the front to compensate for a winch and bumper. I would check with the companies that you are looking at for a lift and see if they have that option.

Do you ever plan on installing a rear bumper/tire carrier. This will in turn bring the rear down as well, and probably level things out. Just something to think about.

If you have plans to lift it in the near future, I say hold off until that's installed and see where you're at. If the lift kit is gonna be a while out, you can just install some 3/4" or 1" coil spacers to level it back out.

Only one company offers a coil for a winch/bumper combo HD one and a std it's their 3" lift the Rustys Off Road kit and it works very well. I'm still using both the leafs and coils with a ACOS spacer for a 4 1/2" lift now because I liked the coil so well. Rustys leafs and coils are very good quality and made in NA,

Fred, does you ACOS act as a bumpstop as well? want to get to 6 from 4.5 thought ACOS may be a good option for the front
