Default body lift concerns

so i was thinking of lifting my jeep just a little more. i have a 3 in suspension lift and was thinking of buying 1 or 2 in body lift but a buddy of mine said he could just stick some metal or wood under the body to lift it? said its basically the same thing. would save me money but is it a good idea? or is a body lift not a good idea at all?

You can use hockey pucks, they are cheap and some durable rubber.

Guys, XJs are unibody, therefore no frame to "lift" body from. Cool thing though, no body lifts mean you actually have to really lift it!! Then wheel it!!

you CAN NOT BODY LIFT... I guess you could cut the body off the rails and space it out... lol

you could do coil spacer in the front

and

longer shackle and/or a block in the rear

Fair enough man,if I was hard on you I apologize. That friend of yours....yeah dont listen to him. But I feel like some things we should figure out our selves, like searching Jeep Cherokee Xj body lift for example. We all learn from each other here and share knowledge, but some things just get rehashed over and over without much effort in the searching department. No hard feelings kiddo.

Guys... I hate to inform you but you are all mistaken. You can indeed do a body lift. Here is a link to what the final project looks like.

Pretty sure thats the oldest pic in the book but I still thought it was funny

But hey don't worry, I have asked worse questions on this forum before
you are not alone!
