BLIND AT NIGHT. Headlights
2001 XJ: Low and high beams NOT working! Good fuses. Parking/tail lights are working. Grounds by airbox good. Earlier today, headlight delay was making a buzzing noise. Currently have Inspired Engineering LED's. Could my switch really have failed all of a sudden or something else?? Also blue highbeam indicator does not illuminate when turn signal switch is pushed forward or back.

I cannot find an actual black relay for the headlights. I have checked the 30amp fuse under the hood as well as those 10a's in the passenger kick panel. I have the headlight switch pulled out currently, was trying to find a way to test and see if that's the problem. I know I'm getting no power to the headlight plugs (lights). Will the headlights work if I unplug the headlight delay module?

You have to pull the knee blocker from under the dash on the driver's side. The relay is located behind this up under the instrument panel. It is a first check as you know. The switch could also be bad if you are not hearing a positive "click" when changing it.

The "click" would be when you pull and change the High/low beam switch. If there is no Click then something is broken in the switch.
Every high/low switch I have come across makes an audible click when changing. Except a few Toyota's Nissans, and VW's over the years.

The panel under the driver's side dash and steering wheel needs to come off. Behind that you will find the relay up under the instrument panel. It will be a typical black square relay.

I took out the headlight switch and jumped it up to the battery. I found the following:
-The switch actually has labeled numbers or letters next to each prong ("U" "B1" "B2" "B3" "P" "H" "D" "I"
-I attached the ground from the neg battery terminal to neg on switch. I attached positive jumper from positive terminal to "U" on switch. Based on diagram above, "U" is 12v from battery. I then used a meter and found the Parking Lights, Dome Lights, and Brake Lights are receiving power (and are working fine). However, when attaching the positive lead to the Headlight prong "H" I get NOTHING on the meter.
I am guessing bad switch? Did I figure this out!!!???!!!???

New switch, same problem Still fecked. Where are all the ground locations for the headlights?
could this be the headlight delay module (as it was buzzing loudly), or turn signal switch?
