Default bilstein shocks

what is the correct size for a 4.5 lift? a guy on cl has a set of 33-186559 and i don't know if there to long to short or whats the correct numbers should be thanks guys.

what did he have his on?
bilstein makes xj specific shocks with proper valving...

just said they were for a xj up to 6 inch lift mine is a 4.5 lift

Those are 17" collapsed 28" extended and likely way too long for 4.5" of lift. They are also 5125s and eye to eye mount requiring bar pin eliminators or custom shock mounts.

You really need to measure what you need or you can easily end up too short or too long and ruin your shocks before they should. As far as XJ valved Bilsteins the RE monotubes are sold as valved specifically for the XJ. The 5100s and 5125s will be valved at a range that works reasonably well for vehicles like an XJ.
