I had a '88 XJ ,4 door, no roof over the rear, with trimmed fenders f/r, NO lift & had 33/12.50/15 on 3.75 b/s, they barely rubbed the rear @ full flex-could have fixed it with bumpstop extentions.
Seems like everyone has a different story to tell, so I guess it really depends on your perticular Jeep.

Yeah its stock, and I'm thinking that if i bought the bushwhacker cutouts that i could easily get 33's under there with spacers and bump stops. But even without them i dont think I'd have to much trouble with rub, probably at a really sharp turn and under full flex is all.
I would have to think so. Going up from a 30" to a 31" tire you're only adding 1/2" more to each side of the tire. I would just try to keep as skinny of a tire as I could, Stay with a 10.50 and I think you'd be ok.
What size are you running now? I would just measure from your tire to the wheel well while its straight, and then turn your wheels and measure again. You will loose alot of clearance when your wheels are turned and that should be your best spot to be able to tell.
