Best Headlights for XJ, PICS would be nice as well!
Well.. today was a bad day for my wallet and my Jeep. Took him into get a check up as well as an oil change thinking I was gonna walk out spending a few bucks but instead, they found that my whole front braking system was done for. Andddddd $1000 or so later and the shop's loaner mini-van, he is back to normal!
Anyways, what's you all's favorite headlights to buy for your Jeep? I am in desperate need for a replacement since the halogens currently on my Jeep are
I'm running H4s in e-code housings with a relay harness. The harness made the lights brighter. The e-code housings gave them a better pattern.
For me, beam pattern is important. I don't want to blind oncoming traffic with some garbage Chinese LEDs that spray light everywhere, because I'm not an a55hole.

You have a picture by chance? Also the ecode-housing is the 5×7 housing correct?
I bought these, they have a metal housing and they have a lense made of glass. I also installed some phillips bulbs and a harness, it amazing how bright the headlights are now, I would show you but I haven't taken any night pics yet.
The Autopals are cheaper, and people seem to like them. Personally I haven't seen a head-to-head comparison. You'll also see some people swear the Cibie housings are best, but you can't really go wrong with any of them.

Ideally you should also install a relay harness. The relay harness powers your lights off your battery rather than pulling power all the way through the headlight switch. Not only will you get brighter headlights from the reduced resistance, but you'll also reduce the heat in your headlight switch and decrease the likelihood that it will burn up the way so many of them do.
Cruiser has been recommending this one, and I trust his judgment:

Member jhc7399 had a few of these for sale in the classified section for a few bucks cheaper, so you might see if his listing is still active.
Pricey. Totally worth the money. I will run these until they harness the power of the sun, LOL....those JW Speakers are nice, but even pricier. And, not as clean looking, but beauty is in the eye, as they say.
Well, the e-codes don't compare to the Truck Lites, but here are the pics I ran out to shoot just now anyway. (I need to re-aim my passenger side light, but you get the gist.)
Low beams:
High beams:
Against the garage door to show the pattern better:
You'll notice they slant upward to the right. The E-code standard allows for the pattern to slope up on the right (in left-hand drive countries) so that you can see more in that direction without blinding oncoming traffic on your left.
The Truck Lites are definitely better. Hundreds of dollars better? Not too sure.

Vs. about $100 for brand new Hella e-codes with standard bulbs and considerably less for the Autopals. Again, are the Truck Lites $160 better? Still not sure.
I need more XJs in my fleet to run different lights to compare.

Maybe, maybe not, all I know is they made a HUGE difference on my ride, they are plug and play, and didn't have to upgrade the harness. They are not for everyone I guess, but I am sold.
Word of warning, if you live in snowy areas, they are not for you.

If I had the money, I would buy these. I've seen those before and really like the light they put out.
