Best grease for flex joints
I'm putting on a new set of RC adjustable upper & lower CAs. I've heard some horror stories about the flex joints and want to know what the best grease for them is. I searched on Google and found conflicting answers. Any ideas?

The black lithium still contains petroleum and will deteriorate the bushings (poly and rubber). With my RE flex joints, they recommend only a synthetic grease (with no petroleum as well). I still haven't found anything I can put in a grease gun and have at it.

Wish you the best of luck. I just replaced my RC flex joints with some Currie johnny joints today. The upper flex joints were shot within 500 miles or so and clunked like crazy.

I have a couple thousand miles on my RC lift and the joints are perfectly fine. Did you pack the joints full of grease when you assembled them? I used that red wheel bearing grease because it's water resistant and stays put.

I also like the red wheel bearing grease in this salt-air/water environment.
But RockKrawler suggests I use 3-n-1 oil inside the rubber bushing housing. The joints rarely need lube but I used graphite on them and red grease on the bolt shaft/sleeve.
I also suggest unthreading the joints and coat threads with an anti-seize that contains copper.

How tight did you assemble them? I made mine on the tight side of the scale. I couldn't move the ball socket with my fingers, it required a screwdriver for leverage.
