4.88's are monstrously large for 33's.

$589 motive gears with full install kit. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHRYSLER-8-2...item3a6c050399

$500 for the 4.56's. Also Rough Country has 4.10 or 4.56 for $479.95 + shipping.

$589.95 Superior Gear set 4.56's http://www.4x4groupbuy.com/store/sup...8b2c94032010b5

If it's a 94 you have a reverse rotation front. www.completeoffroad.com has package deals and sell Yukon Gears. I've ran 3 sets without any problems.

Please forgive the stupid question I am very new to building Jeeps.

It looks like regearing is the best option to handle the added weight of 33's and I was looking at 4x4 groupbuy for 4.56 yukon gears kit for a d30/d35 setup but they cut off at 87-99. Can I run this kit or the Yukon TJ kit in a 01 XJ?

Your 01 will have the low pinion D30 up front and uses the same gears as the TJ but check the rear because you could have either a D35 or Cryco 8.25.
