Default battery relocation

Im going to be putting 35s on my 3.5 lift and need eliminate the bump in the wheelwell from the battery and airbox that will cause rubbing. Airbox is no big deal but for the battery, where have you guys relocated yours? I was thinking under dash on passanger floorboard but would like to know what ideas or tips that you guys might have

That depends on what type of battery your going to use and how you are going to enclose/secure it to the frame in case of rollover. Acid baths or explosions from batteries happen all to often and not a pretty sight for sure be safe.

I would consider going to the rear cargo area and using an aluminum battery box bolted to the frame. For cable I have always used welding cable to the engine compartment no loss using it.

^This. Front passenger floor would be a bad location, any passengers would hate you, and I don't think you'd want a battery flying around right next to you in the event of an accident. Rear compartment mounted, in battery boxes, run with welding cable, and using sealed gel cell type batteries is the safest bet here. JMHO

Alt to Batt (+)
Batt to Frame (-)
Batt/Frame to Engine (-)

Do the Batt to Fuse Panel (+) while your at it.
Either quality OFC or KCA wire will do. OFC if you will exceed 200 amps.

Taylor makes some really nice looking boxes. I have one in my mustang and it is pretty sturdy.

^yeah that's it^ and knukonceptz makes some good wire for a good price, if you went with welding wire though they have 00 and 000 gauge if you really wanted way way way more wire than you would ever need haha.

I would have "Nothing Less" and hope I had enough when I used my winch as many have here.

That is indeed my site - and I've done plenty of custom work as well. I've done motorcycles, rally cars, autocross cars, plenty of Jeeps, industrial equipment, OHV equipment, ...

And yes, I can help you design, if you need it. Hit me backchannel - my email is on my site.

(E-mail, please. I check the boards only once a day, but my email window is always open.)

I have my battery mounted in a sealed aluminum box which is bolted to the floor. If you run a normal-type car battery, run a vent line from the box to outside air. Battery fumes are not good for you.

(I just have my vent going out of the top of the box and straight down through the floor)
