Thumbs down Battery keeps dying.

Hi, I have a 2000 Cherokee and the battery will die over night. I make sure everything is off and the keys are out of the iginition. What would be causing this?

If you suspect the battery, have it 'load tested'. A bad battery can still hold over 12 volts.

Start with simple fixes first. Like, you did try cleaning the terminals, clamps and inspect wires and put Di electric grease on. Load test the battery like mention above. You have the jeep so you are the only one that can do the troubleshooting for it first hand

This is really OEM tech unless your electrical system is heavily modified. Not a big deal but you will find most solutions in OEM tech.

I haven't looked it up today but within the past few days there was a thread in OEM that tells exactly how to easily track down a parasitic draw (well, hopefully easily).

The first thing to do is have the battery load tested and fully charged as suggested.

Of course you always want to have clean connections and it is worthwhile to clean them up now if you haven't done so but if you are having no other electrical or starting/running problems, connections are probably not your problem.

Nah, my cables were screwed up and i had several no start days. Battery wouldn't fully charge but shown 14v while driving. Having the hazards on for a few minutes with engine off would drain the battery

I went through this problem and it ended up being my grounds, so I upgraded all of the wires
