Default Bastard pack with Doorman 929-301

I'm hoping someone can help me out on this: Has anyone used a new set of Dorman 929-301 leafs and added the main leaf from their existing factory XJ leafs? I've seen XJ/XJ bastard packs using junkyard leafs but can't find anything on using the Dormans as a base (I scored a brand new set essentially for free). I would assume the result is about the same and a factory XJ/XJ pack, but haven't been able to find any posts on this exact scenario. How much lift over factory did you end up with and how is the ride?

My factory leaves are starting to give out. I would like to gain no more than 2" of lift over factory. I would also like to have more load carrying capacity for when I'm packed to the gills on a camping trip. This is why I would prefer to add the old XJ main verses simply a longer shackle to gain lift. This is on my 2001 XJ. Thanks for any input.
