Default Ball Joints

First off my XJ is on 4.5" of lift with 33" tires. When turning and hitting jumps I'm getting a popping sound. I believe it is the ball joints. What is a good aftermarket part that might handle the bigger tires than the stockers for the D30?

Is a ball joint replacement difficult? I've never done one in the past but pretty mechanical elsewhere.

Thanks

There are a few write-up's here and on NAXJA.org.

Not to bad if you have a quality ball joint press.

Spicer - $50 per side through Serious

Rent the press from your local parts store. It's something like $160 to rent but you get it back when you turn it in. All in all, not that hard. Just time consuming.

EDIT: LOL, same responses all at the same time. Gotta love it.

if you're really hard on your rig, i suggest picking up a set of synergy ones from poly.

http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/...s-p-26182.html

i run spicers in my 44 and will be switching to these when the spicers wear out. i didnt buy them at the time i built the axle bc they werent out yet.
