B-pack leafs and shackles= terrible stiff ride
Is it normal for the leafs to lay perfectly flat and feel like I replaced them with steel bar when I go over a speed bump ? I know I need to replace my shocks but I don't even know if that will help... It's rough.

In the photo, it looks like your shackle is at 90 degrees to your spring. I believe your main leaf should be a little longer which would allow the shackle to work properly. The top of the shackle should "lean" more towards the front of the truck.

Those are all XJ leafs they can't be any longer. It's not the end of the world but sucks I spent $50 on leafs and $30 on hardware ...

wow, that didn't get you anywhere.
use the main xj leaf (you can leave it bolted in), and get a set of s-10 leafs and cut the eye off the s-10 main and bolt the whole pack under your stock xj main.
you will have to drill out your center hole to the size of the s-10 holes and get new center pins.
this should get you around 4 inches as your main looks pretty flat.
you can also add a set of comanche shackles for an added 1/2 inch of lift which will help on your shackle angle too.

What's Weird is it gave a good lift. What sucks is I cut the junk yard ones and now can't return. And don't really want to buy another $50 set. Sometimes things just don't go my way. :-/

look into shackle relocation brackets. with your shackles at that angle it limits the movement. you leafs being flat will actually give you better flex out of the rear.

Idk if it's personal preference, but some people say the bastard pack rides fine, others say you'll regret it! I guess if your rig is a WW then it won't matter too much, but if you have a WW/DD then I'd say the bastard oak may be too stiff..spring rate controls how stiff the sus is. High spring rate- stuff spring. Maybe do some research to see if you can find a leaf with similar spring rate? Also, as stated, a flatter leaf will allow for more even travel and ultimately better off road capabilities. Also, set your front sway bar up to be disconnectable and then scrap the rear. This will help reduce the vehicles tendency to move in unison with the a axle, smoothing out the ride over uneven surfaces a bit..

She is part time DD. I do have another truck as well as a mild wheeler. I did scrap the rear sway when I did the B pack. Like I said it's not the end of the world, but is sure is damn noticable. And I think I need a T case drop now too as it vibes pretty good.
