im installing a dana 44 in my cherokee out of a 70's ford bronco. it has the factory radieus arms on it right now. my question is sould i try to reuse them and create my own long arm system. or should i cut them off and go with the rubicon bracket and keep my uper and lower controll arms. and if anyone has tried this befor some hellpfull info would be grate.
thanks im trying to get my swamp donkey back up and on the trail.

Depends on what year axle you have. 77 and earlier you can just grind off the wedges and use whatever brackets you want. Also these are not full width and some Broncos had a front D30 not a D44. 78-79 have cast wedges and can't be cut or ground off, you either use the radius arms or retube the axle. The radius arms work just as well as other radius/long arms like the RC,RE or Rusty's if you do it right. Most cut off the rear mounts and weld on tube with heims on the ends. Several good write ups on Pirate about that setup.
its out of a 75 i think, and it is a dana 44 i alredy swaped out the internals and im redy for the next step. thanks for the insite. i cant wate to finish it so i can post a build spred.

If it's out of a 75 Bronco it's narrower than your stock 30 so plan on wheel spacers or wheels with a lot of offset.

If the are welded i would probably cut them off. if you have a good working suspension and this is your first axle swap. if you can fab and know how to build a suspension or have the time to learn and do it right then I would fabricate the arms to make a long arm setup and build it all out now.
here is a good build that has pics of making custom arms out of the stock ford arms.

although the TNT truss is nice for time sake its a bit of money compared to piecing together a bracket set from ballistic or rustys ect...
