Default Axle Mods question

Ok i still have the stock axle's in my 89 XJ. I want to beef them up a bit. Are there any mods i can do to my D30 and D35. OR What axles are a direct bolt in swap that i can do. I am on a tight budget so $$$ savings is important. I do not do any rock crawling just your basic trail riding light to moderate nothing heavy duty.
thanks

What aize tire do you run?

From the way your talking you will just be wasting money on any cash you put into your axle. The stock setup is more than OK for light wheeling.

If anything just swap in a V8 ZJ tie rod.

Id save money and look towards swapping out the D35.. Look for either a 29 spline 8.25 or the XJ D44.

Any 8.25 will be an upgrade, but the later models had the 29 spline shafts.

An 8.25 will bolt right in with no modification. You just need bigger u bolts because the axle tube is bigger.

The more recent Cherokees had 29 spline 8.25s which are stronger, I think after 1997 had 29 spline. Just make sure it's not a Dana 35, any xj with abs had the Dana 35. You can tell by looking at the diff cover. An 8.25 will have a lip on the diff housing that comes below the cover.
