Default the Axel thread

How about a thread that talks about the different axles and parts for them....

I have an 88 and now I know it comes with Dana 35 rear and 30 front.
What can I do to them?
What other axles will fit and are best for my XJ..?

Truss is to keep the housing itself from flexing. A 4 cylinder will break a 35 just like a 6 cylinder. I've seen Dana 35s with super 35 kits live on 35 inch tires locked with a truss. The housing is the main weakness.

So if I just truss up my axle then I can go pretty far on that?

get a 97-01 8.25, or a D44 from an XJ, then lock that, or an 8.8 and weld new brackets to it.

or swap front and rear D60's/D44's ect based on your fab skills and needs.

all mods are pretty much the same for any axle, gears ,lockers ,alloy shafts, disc conversion, truss', ect.
