Please please go with JB CONVERSIONS!!!!!! Their kit IS the best!!! It had a better yolk. Stronger main shaft and more actual AMERICAN design into the whole thing. And it is produced in the USA!

It's still a slip yoke style driveline though; isn't it? You still need something to slide with a SYE.

Will going with the JB Conversions instead of the Advance Adapters one require a longer driveshaft?

Shipping for me to GA was like $15-20 I think. Not too bad. And technically yes you would need a longer DS because the the YOLK on the JB kit is shorter. But it is really only like a quarter to a half an inch shorter. Not a lot!

That company has very close ties with new process gear(the company that produces the np231)http://www.jbconversions.com/product...1j_std_sye.php

Here is a chart that lists all the drive shaft length for the xjs and zjs. You WILL need a longer one! I went with one of the longest ones available...33"... And I still only have about 2" of slip left in the driveshaft. I found one on eBay for $30 and repainted it and put new u joints in it. For a grand total of $250 for a full SYE and DriveShaft! And it has given me nothing but smiles!!!!

okay, so let me see if i understand, when u measure ujoint to ujoint, lets just say its 30.1 (random number). does than mean you need to find a collapsed ds that measures 30.1? or a ds that has more room to compress and expand, 30.1 being the length when the ds is halfway compressed or expanded?

The typical Cherokee front DS with have about 3" between fully compressed and fully extended lengths. At ride height you should be at half that. So measure center to center of the yoke seats and subtract 1.5" from that. Then get the driveshaft closest to that length.

FYI the IRO kit comes with a refurbished front DS from a 4.0 XJ with an auto so 30.66".

Is that for an auto or manual cherokee? I didnt see the xj driveshaft option on IRO's site, theres an option for a $250 custom shaft though.

get the driveshaft closest "compressed" to that, when you subtract 1.5
