Default AW4 full of water

Sank the jeep recently and the tranny was full of water... Drain plug is stirpped and instead of dropping the pan and adversely dropping the tranny to get all the water out, I cut the cooler line upfront and ran the jeep and just kept adding fluid until it came out clean. Seems to be working fine. Except I habent been able to do a road test yet because the yard is too wet to get it up to the road. Any thoughts? Ideas? Pointers?

you need to change that filter, and also change the fluid after a few miles of driving like 10 miles tops. might even change the trans filter again.

Should of dropped the pan u might of saved it. Letting it run and pump the water out was imo a huge mistake. I would just keep changing the fluid at least twice. Might get lucky

Problem was it had already gotten driven around a little with the water in it.. may sound stupid. But why worry about the filter so much? Think the water may have broken crap free and clogged it up? Should I mention its strickly a trail rig? Doesn't see much on road time... Maybe a mile here mile there type thing. But that's it

That was my thoughts about the filter... Because it is just a screen. I have one, just not wanting the hassel of pulling the pan. Time will tell. Fluid appears clean and reading correct on dipstick. Will keep you all posted. Thanks

Similar thing happened to me. Had to drive it 20 miles home full of water. Changed the fluid about 7 times before I was satisfied with it. Have probably driven it 5000 miles since then and still have no problem whatsoever.

I'd say you're fine. I'd just change it a couple more times. The slightest bit of water can bring bad luck.
