Is it possible to put an 87 AW4 in a 98 cherokee? If so whats gotta be done? Thanks.

The po want the AW4 that is in the 98 now.

I don't think anything is needed if they have an AW4 in their XJ now. Should be a direct bolt up.

What about the fact that the spline count between the 2 model years of transmissions and transfer cases is different along with electrical differences?
