Auto to manual trans swap, no dip stick?
I've searched everywhere but there is no transmission dip stick under the hood. I replaced the starter a few days ago and there was no tube running up from the trans. PO did an auto to manual swap, not sure what he did but I'd like to make it right. From under the truck where on the trans would the dip stick tube mount? There's no leak on my driveway so my guess is he has it plugged somehow? The transmission so far has worked with only two issues, one when you put it in reverse there is no reverse lights and no voltage at the bulb socket so I'm guessing he never hooked up a reverse switch or whatever these truck use to get voltage to the light when in reverse. And two... when in reverse the part time light on the dash lights up even though the truck is in two wheel. I'm thinking he attempted to wire the reverse circuit but tapped into the wrong wire so instead of sending power to the reverse lights it sends power to the part time 4wheel light. Besides those things the trans works fine.

Dip stick? You have a manual transmission? There is no dip stick on a manual transmission.
Being that the part time light turns on in reverse even though it's in 2wd and there is no voltage being sent to the reverse lights I wonder if when he did the tranny swap if he mixed up the reverse switch plug on the tranny and the part time switch plug on the t-case? Are their the same type off plug?
I'm gonna shift it into 4wd tomorrow and see if the reverse lights come on.... Any bets? 😂

The clutch doesn't have or use fluid. The slave cylinder that acuates the clutch uses hydraulic oil. That will be on the firewall next to the brake booster.
The transmission uses oil. There is a fill plug and a drain plug. do not drain the transmission without first making sure you can remove the fill plug.

So I went underneath and unplugged the two pin plug going into the trans, I assume it's the reverse switch. The part time light on the dash no longer comes on in reverse. Nothing happens when you put the truck into 4 wheel, it goes into 4x4 but no dash light so somehow the PO has the dash light wired to the reverse switch on the trans. Not sure what he has wired into the part time indicator switch on the transfer case? I was expecting the reverse lights to come on when I put it into 4 wheel but they don't.

He has no way of knowing what you meant. It's up to YOU to say what you MEAN .
You came on here asking about a dipstick for a MANUAL TRANSMISSION, so we have to assume you know VERY little, therefore, we can't assume you know what you are talking about, and just slipped up a little.
Everybody has to start somewhere, and nobody minds answering questions for people who are just getting started, but when you come off with an attitude like that you aren't going to find many people willing to spend their own time trying to help you learn.

Obviously I did know exactly what you were talking about. I was being as straightforward on the subject as I could be. If you are going to take that as being talked down to then you probably arent going to be very happy when you have questions and need answers here.
I could have said "hey n00b why dont u learn a thing or 2 about jeeps before you ask such dumb questionz"
I also could have took your defensive response personally and started a keyboard fight.

Others might not share that opinion.
Of course you do. Everybody does, every waking minute. Some attitudes are good, some are bad. Yours ain't good.

The engine in one of my cars doesnt have a dipstick for the oil so hey, a manual trans with a dipstick makes pretty good sense! To be honest, I have never seen a manual trans with a dipstick....
