ASC Sunroof Relay Questions
Since the Sunroof is not a 'stock' item and I think I'm gonna have to modify it anyway, I've placed this in this thread.
Anyone know if you can modify one of these relays to work?
My relay fried and caused the sunroof to open on it's own and then drain the battery (of course at -30 below). My mechanic helped me track it down to the relay box. We removed it then jumped 12v straight to the sunroof motor to close it.
I contacted ASC and they said that the module was so old they didn't think they could do anything for me, but they would get back to me.....still waiting.
Anyone else had any luck in finding, fixing or modifying these to actually work?
Thanks,
Dutch

Google "sunroof doctor", they're in Sacramento and might be able to help you out with that relay. I have an ASC sunroof in my ZJ, but a few of the track parts are broken, so I adjusted it as tight as I could and sealed it up, then I removed power to it so it can't be opened. I hate sunroofs anyway.

Ok...big time update on this thread.
First off I have to say a HUGE thank you to BustedBack for mentioning the Sunroof Doctor. I contacted Rick at Sunroof Doctor and he plugged me into gent who had a USED replacement relay that was an exact match to mine.
But then I received a PM from Blue01 who gave me the name of Michigan Automotive Restyling in Lansing, MI. Jim there was able to not only indentify my module, he was able to found that they were actually STILL BEING MADE by ASC.
BOOM! $65 later and I have a brand new relay for my sunroof.
Did I mention BRAND NEW? Notice the LARGER resistor on the new board? This was where my old one failed.
All I can say if you have a sunroof problem, call Jim at Michigan Automotive Restyling 517-272-7500. Tell him that I sent you.

Wow...been a few years since I've seen one of my posts in CF.
The module (in my XJ) was under the headliner about 10 inches behind the sunroof in the middle over the rear passenger seats. I peeled the headliner back on the drivers side back door and and reached in a snagged it.
