Huge spacers and shackles are probably the worst way to lift an XJ. Too much geometry gets jacked up that isn't addressed by that stuff.

It will give you height but it won't be fun to drive man.

I have 1 3/4 shackles and spacers. I dont have a problem but if u want higher your better off going with add aleaf, maybe a spacer up front or longer coil springs depending on how much lift you want.

I would take that $130 and put it in a piggy bank and leave it there until you have more money and look into these options:

Bare Minimum:
$255 Rough Country

OK:
$345 Rough Country

Good:
$438 Rusty's

Well stock are 3 1/8" and that is 0" lift. To get 3" of lift you would need 6" more shackle length so 9 1/8".

What I can't wrap my head around is what THAT shackle angle will look like - haha!

I never said Rusty's was bad man.

In fact I said their springs are very good.

Headache? Nah . . . try installing Rubicon Express longarms if you want a REAL headache. If drilling 80 bazillion holes isn't enough THEN you have to cut off your lower control arm mounts.

here is the deal... 3" spacers are fine in the front of an XJ... I would even consider 3.5" in the front of and XJ...

just make sure you understand a few things...

1.) the factory bump stop tower is about 7" long... so a 3" spacer would only leave about 4" on the bump stop tower... that tower holds the coils in

2.) with point #1, you can see that you are more likely to unseat the coil...

3.) if you run a coil spacer that tall it would be a good idea to limit your down travel with straps AND/OR short shocks... (maybe a 2" shock on a3" lift?)

4.) as for not running 3" spacers... people run ACOS all the time and it can be adjusted to 3.75" iirc

as for the rear I see it is a 2" lift shackle... it will work, but it will beat up your leafs over time... at it will rotate your pinion up around 3° (+/- 1°)

I know a guy that is running a 4" spacer on his XJ up front... to me I think it is a waste of time... but it is just a toy to him... who am I to tell him NO?

I also have 2 local guys running around right now with 3" coil spacers on their TJs that can tell you coil spacers work just fine

coil spacers are not the best way to lift... but they work and they let you run bigger tires... and they can ALWAYS be cut down later

there are other options out there... this is true... you will be happier with a rear 3" lift, or even a junk yard 3" lift... but you will also spend more money

If you just wanna fit 31s on the cheapest budget possible spend $25 at Harbor Freight and trim your fenders.

Done.
