Hey,
Just received my detours tailbone. Then got it coated in line x. HUGE MISTAKE!
I told them what to spray and what not to spray but they fouled it up anyway and sprayed it all.
There was liner in holes in threads and the most pain in the a$$ part was the thickness of the liner. I normally would have been impressed but for this application, it was horrible!
All of my bolts would not line up and the brackets wouldn't either. Come to find out there can be as much as 1/16 of material build up on one side. You can imagine bolting two pieces together that have an extra 1/16 of material and a partially filled in bolt hole!
I spent the last 2 days grinding and cutting off material to make the pieces fit due to low tolerances during manufacturing.
Additionally, none of the supplied bolts were long enough due to the extra thickness of material so off to home depot I went.....again.......and again!
UGH!
Just an FYI

I painted the one I made a nice rattle can flat black lol.
I knew how thick the paint would be and ground it down more as prep but it's still wearing off, but I knew it would On the pivot point.
Sucks they didn't listen to you and you had to grind on it.

RE: the "right shop", yes, the customers wants and needs should have been followed but lets face it, it could have happened to anyone. I am really just trying to save some people some serious aggrivation. Some people may not know how thick line x is and will encounter the same issue i did. I was able to get out of that mess but some others may not have the tools, skill, or patience to overcome this situation.
Just trying to provide info!
shoulda just sprayed it myself!

I've had my Line-X shop spray several things. If they filled bolt holes and sprayed where they weren't supposed to then they're morons. I would have refused to pay for it. They could have the option of either removing their product from your parts completely or cut their loses.
I despise ****ty craftsmanship for pay.
