The same applies to a 5100 or any similarly sized shock.
Like i said the bigger the better, but with size comes cost. a pair of 2.0 with resi fox's is just over $400 and they will work pretty good if set up right. While a set of 2.5 with resi is just under $1000. Over double the price.
Is the cost worth it for most cherokee owners that still drive their rigs on the street? Not likely.

The bds/fox shox are supposedly pre tuned to bds specs. So with a nice clayton lift or bds lift it "should" be good out of the box. But who knows.

the same logic applies to bilstein vs. 2.0. if the average guy running medium trails is going to be fine on bilsteins, then why would the average guy ever buy a tuneable 2.0?
go big or go home, the middle option has always been a big waste of money in my experience

useless. unless you've just got money to burn, just go with some regular old 5100's
and FYI, king 2.5 resis are only $700/pair shipped

My Dad won his "evo spec" King 2.5s W/ resevoirs brand new for 400 bucks all 4 from a "lost shipment" guy on EBay for his JK with 4.5" of lift. It still had the original receipt in it (never opened) and the total was 2200 bucks. Also had these weird king mounts with it that allow the shock to flex on the axle. Those things are amazing lol. I've never looked at buying them myself... Just going off that receipt.

they're just shocks though arent they? I haven't seen them ran by anyone. once again, the first thing that comes to mind is that sort of "middle ground" product. although it would be freakin sweet to fit 14" of travel in a small space

I heard the bilsteins rust real easy, and up here in salt and snow country if they perform as well or better than a bilstein I don't mind that a set of 4 cost 60$ more is kind of what I was thinking. And you guys talking about tuning(beats me)- you don't think bds would have done a proper job? I don't know if you are talking about desert stuff or what with shocks getting hot but over here we go slow in heavily wooded rutted and rocky tight trails, I think of heat and I think of fast moving suspension where I could see reservoirs or more volume being a plus. Ie see videos of rausch creek on YouTube. That's where this jeep will be used at

I've never tuned mine, ordered for an xj with 4.5 lift and have worked real well. I've also never had any heat issues but I'm up here where it's cold

This is exactly my point.
You gotta pay to play. Just how much do you Want to spend?? There are different levels of aftermarket stuff not just shocks. One has to too look at what there gunna be doing and buy the right parts for THERE rig. A bilstein is an upgrade from a stock shock just as a 2.0 is an upgrade from a bilstein. And so on intill your talking more money in shocks then some peoples whole jeeps are worth.
To the op: yes those shocks are going to work better then bilsteins. Is it worth the cost? only you can decide that.

And as for the price I didn't look for the best deal just sampled one website and took the price from there.

pay to play is my point too

so why do it half assed and pay for the inbetween option? I cannot condone spending money on a 2.0 shock. and if I see you rolling around on a set, I'm gonna laugh at you. there's some things you spend big money on, and theres some things you buy cheap. you ALWAYS hear people complain about the inbetween choice. because they're upset with the performance for how much they paid

OP do you have short arms? or long arms? if you're running short arms you have your priorities wrong. if someone here is running short arms on 2.0's I'm gonna be on the floor rolling
