I am not a mechanic nor do I have mechanical skills to fabricate and put together a WJ steering as described. My preference is to purchase a kit, with a warranty, and install the kit. I believe the OP asked: "What do you guys see as a good fit? Money is not as much as an issue as quality. Vendors? Vetrans? Memebers" which Serious Offroad answered as a vendor on the site, which the OP asked for at the close of his question. From my perspective, Serious Offroad answered and then took the high road when attacked and after he was challenged a second time, he didn't fight back. Props to Serious, another reason I will purchase from you when I upgrade my steering.

Its doesnt take a vast amount of skill to swap to WJ knuckles. If you can lift a XJ, you can do a XJ swap. But with a WJ swap if a 100% ready to install kit with warrenty is what you want, it exist. You just have to fork out $1300 to Rusty's offroad for a beefiness and that guarantee. Which seriously is not bad considering everything its has. I chose to spend a lot less. Did a little research and gathered my parts.

BTW Im not endorsing Rusty's. Thought their stuff is quality, My own personal customer experience with them has been negative in the past
FWIW,
2001 ForD Explorer Sport Trac Rotors Will Not fit a Jeep XJ, TJ, or ZJ unit bearing hubs. The flange on the hub must be ground down in order to fit into the rotors hat section.
All WJ conversions require the addition of a spacer, smart money is spent on getting them TIG welded too.
I ran the WJ conversion on a Dana 30 and moved it to my first Dana 44 as well. It's a good swap, but as I said previously, not cheap.
Sorry for the Hijack, should kept my pie-hole full of pie.

I ban anyone that try's to access areas that they have no business being in (Spammers/hackers) or anyone that creates a bogus account.
