Another option for lifting the rear !!!!!!!
Has anyone ever tried the Zuk-Mod to lift the rear of an xj ?. Now don't laugh at me. Ive done them on the rear of Toyotas several times. You basically take a coil spring ( some use a front TJ or order a set of Black Magic Springs ) place in between the rear bump stop and leaf pack. Its basically like a coil helper for the pack. Then you secure the coil in any fashion you like. I always used The Black Magic route 125lbs spring rate and cut the coil to the desired length. I will swear by it that it makes a Toyota ride better , does not really affect articulation. and increases payload. You

Lol yep. Sounds sketchy. You can get shocks now a days with springs built in. I just got a set for my MJ. And it lifted it 3/4" so it would probably be close to 1.5" on an XJ
As for using it to lift it. There's no way in hell I would do that to my rig. As for increasing payload, stiffing up the rear, all the stuff you said at the end of you post now that's a different story

LOL .. No paint huffing here. Just wondered if anyone had done it on a Cherokee. As for reliability I never had a problem with them. Ive done several trucks that way and the owners said they wish that they had heard about it years ago.

Do it and report back. It would be interesting. Not sure if it would be worth it when you could by a new set of leafs with lift you wanted or shackles and get better drive line angles. It would be cool to see how it worked out for you though.

I have beat the crap out of them with no issues... This is a big thing that started out west for a cheap lift on Toyotas. Now keep in mind it wasn't meant for extreme wheeling such as a buggy type truck... but I have been all over our local places wheeling and collecting fire wood for the house. If you Bing or Google Zuk Mod you will find all kinds of info. I'm assuming on the Jeep side of things nobody has tried it yet. Its cheap too. You can get the Black Magic springs off e-bay for about $60 a pair and the TJ springs are in every boneyard

$60 for springs to half *** lift the rear? You can put together a bastard pack cheaper and have something that functions better. I bought my HD replacement springs for the rear of mine for what you're spending on those springs.
Doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

Hey guys I was just asking . I didn't say I would do it to a Cherokee. But don't judge something you haven't tried before. I'm not upset at all don't get me wrong. Just throwing that option out there...And the first time I saw it I laughed too.. But after seeing so many do it I tried it and I loved it but I don't know if it would work for XJ like it did the Toyota

Just because lots of people do it doesn't mean it's right. Double shackles are proof of that. Toyotas started that one as well. Don't get me wrong I'm not a Yota basher, owned one and liked it and wheel with several but they run 63" chevys in the rear or links.
