Default another fender cutting thread

ive got a 87 2 door xj and i really dont know much about fender timming,etc...ive read most of the threads on here about fender trimming and all that, but i was just wondering about how much i would need to fender trim if i were to be putting 32's or 33's on a 3in lift.i would appreciate it a whole lot if yall could help me,im just now turnin 16 and this is gonna be my DD to hischool and back so im not worried about cutting for flexing or anything, just a mud puddle or two and mayb a hill also,i am not gonna rock crawl or anything either

,
thanks,Zane

I just pulled the flares off my 87 two door last night.

Found lots of rust, so I will have to do some heavy trimming.

i love my 2 door, its been in a barn its whole life pretty much until i saved it bout 2 months ago,my flares are off right now and i used some bondo,2 packs of sandpaper, and a rattle can for just a temporary fix to cover the holes where the bolts were until i can cut em,looks a little rough condnsiderin no ones been drivin it for years and paints peelin, but hey,its gonna be covered in mud the whole time so it dont matter if its pretty or not

I have 33s now. the rear is sagging at 2.75 in lift and the front is lifted 3.5 in. If you are putting 32 on a 3 in lift and only daily driving it with no offroading you should be almost fine with no trimming. What you could do is take of the flares and cut about an inch all the way aound so you could reinstall the flares. In my opinion, dont cut anything until you put the tires on and then see where to cut. I have 33s and wheel it heavily, I trimmed the fronts alot but thats because I disconnect the sway bar and get a lot of travel and did the cut and fold in the rear.
